The short answer

Google Ads and Local Services Ads management for HVAC companies: repair and replacement campaigns, search-term control and call tracking tied to the ad. Management starts at $375 a month plus ad spend, which you pay Google directly, and at least $1,500 a month per platform is recommended. Results are not guaranteed.

Sound familiar?

When the heat wave hits and the ads cost the most.

  • Calls ring out because every tech is on a job, and the caller tries the next company.
  • Ads pay for "free quote" shoppers, DIY searches and job seekers instead of homeowners who need a repair.
  • Peak-week budgets run out by midday, so the best calls of the day go to a competitor.
  • Nobody can say which ads produced the replacement jobs and which only produced clicks.
  • The agency reports clicks and impressions, not booked calls.

What the work covers

What I manage each week.

Repair and emergency campaigns

Separate campaigns for no-cool and no-heat searches, with budgets and bids that follow the weather and your crew capacity.

Replacement and install campaigns

Higher-value searches for new systems and heat pumps, with landing pages and call handling written for people comparing quotes.

Search-term control

Weekly review of what people actually typed, with negatives for jobs, training, parts, DIY and wrong-trade searches.

Local Services Ads

Set-up and upkeep where Google offers them for your area, including lead disputes and the review and screening steps. See the Local Services Ads service.

Call and form tracking

Calls, forms and texts tied to the ad and keyword, so you can see which spend books jobs. See conversion tracking.

Seasonal budgeting

A spend plan for the cooling and heating seasons, so money is not spread evenly across weeks that behave very differently.

Rings out: the caller tries the next company.
Answered or texted back: the job stays with you.

Campaigns

The jobs the campaigns are built around.

AC and heat repair

Urgent, local and high intent. Speed of answer matters more than anything else on the page.

System replacement

Big tickets with longer decisions. Follow-up after the quote is part of the plan.

Heat pumps and upgrades

Searches shaped by rebates and incentives that change, so claims are checked before they go in an ad.

Maintenance plans

Lower-ticket, repeat revenue. Usually run as remarketing and email, not as big search budgets.

Commercial HVAC

Fewer, larger enquiries. Often better served by a separate campaign and page.

The numbers

What published numbers say about HVAC.

Published estimates and vendor data vary by region and year, so treat them as context, not promises.

Replacement jobs are large. One published estimate puts a central AC replacement at about $5,800 to $14,400, and EnergySage puts the average heat pump system near $15,400 before incentives.

A call-analytics vendor found HVAC had the lowest answer rate of the home-service categories it listed: 34% of inbound calls answered by a person, against 52% across home services. It is vendor data and counts every inbound call.

Busy weeks follow the weather. US government data shows home electricity use peaking in July and August and natural gas use in January and February.

Pricing

What the management costs.

Management starts at $375 a month for one channel. The right plan depends on how many platforms you run and your monthly ad spend.

Ad spend is separate and goes straight from your card to Google. Full details, including the founding-client offer, are on the pricing page.

Paid ads management (USD, 60-day start, then month to month)
PlanPriceWhat it is for
Starter$375/moOne channel, ad spend up to $3k/mo
Growth$675/moTwo channels, ad spend up to $7.5k/mo
Scale$1,125/moUp to three channels, ad spend up to $15k/mo

I recommend at least $1,500 a month in ad spend per platform. Below that, campaigns rarely collect enough data to improve, and Local Services Ads or your Google Business Profile are a better first step.

The first 90 days

What working together looks like for HVAC companies.

Days 1 to 14: audit and tracking

I read the account, set up call and form tracking, define what counts as a lead and agree the plan. Campaigns go live within 14 days of access.

Days 15 to 45: tighten

Search terms, negatives, ad copy and budgets are adjusted weekly against calls, not clicks.

Days 46 to 90: grow what books jobs

More budget goes to the campaigns that book work, the weak ones are cut, and the landing pages are improved.

What I promise

The work, not the lead count.

Lead volume depends on your market, season, budget and how fast you answer the phone, so I do not promise a number of leads, a cost per lead or a ranking. What I do promise is in writing: your campaigns go live within 14 days of you granting access and approving the plan, or the first month's management fee is waived (waiting on Google's own checks or on access from you does not count toward the 14 days), and you can ask for a refund of the fees you paid me in the first 30 days. You own the ad account, the analytics and the website from day one.

Process

How the work runs.

  1. Review

Read-only access to the account, analytics and tracking. I tell you what I see before any agreement.

  2. Fix the foundations

Tracking, consent, conversion definitions and account structure are corrected first, so optimisation works from accurate data.

  3. Optimise

Weekly changes to campaigns, budgets, pages and creative, each with a stated reason.

  4. Report

Plain-language reporting tied to leads and pipeline, with a direct line to me.

FAQ

Common questions.

How much does Google Ads management cost for HVAC companies?
Management starts at $375 a month for one channel and is $675 a month for two channels, plus a one-time setup fee. Ad spend is separate: you pay Google directly, and I recommend at least $1,500 a month per platform. The published plans are on the pricing page.
Is the ad spend included?
No. You pay Google, Meta or LinkedIn directly from your own account, so you can always see what was spent. The prices on this page are management fees only.
Should an HVAC company use Local Services Ads or regular Google Ads?
Often both. Local Services Ads charge per lead and show a badge above the usual results where Google offers them. Search campaigns give more control over services and areas. I compare the two for your area in the audit.
Can you run ads for emergency calls outside business hours?
Yes, if someone answers. I set ad schedules to match when calls are answered, because paying for a click that rings out is wasted money. A live answering option can cover nights and weekends.
Do you guarantee leads?
No. Lead volume depends on your market, season, budget and how quickly you answer, so a guarantee would be a guess. The commitments are the work in your plan, the 14-day launch promise and the 30-day fee refund.
Who owns the Google Ads account?
You do. Everything runs in an account you own, and I work through manager access that you can remove at any time.
